For the First Time — Iraq’s Job Market Is Calling for Motion Designers
Today, for almost the first time ever, I’m seeing around 10 open job positions in Iraq specifically for Motion Graphics Designers.
That’s a clear sign that companies have started to need this field daily in their marketing and content production.

But here’s the problem — there’s a real shortage of professionals in this field.
Honestly, I expect most of these positions to stay open for months.

Let’s do a quick calculation:
If each company receives 10 different applicants, that means we’d need at least 100 skilled motion designers — and from my experience, that number is almost impossible to find right now in Iraq.

Where’s the problem?
On the company side:
They need to realize that this field is complex and the number of specialists is limited.
They can either develop their current creative teams, or adopt beginners and invest a year in training them to reach a solid professional level.
Some may rely on external production agencies, but even most agencies and studios are struggling with the same shortage.
That’s exactly why Sketch always remains in demand — because companies need real expertise in this area.

On the individuals’ side:
There’s no clear learning direction.
Few professional courses.
Few qualified trainers.
And no proper academic study programs for motion graphics — and realistically, I don’t think we’ll see that anytime soon.

So the only solution for aspiring creatives is to learn independently, keep experimenting, and push themselves until they reach a level where they can lead and innovate in this field.
My message to creative friends:
The opportunity right now is huge.
The ten motion design jobs you see today will become hundreds tomorrow — or within the next year.

So if you have passion and love for motion graphics, this is the time to grow, learn, and specialize.
The field is wide open, and the future is waiting for you.
